The eternal is both point / event and the extent of all experience. It is the breath or tide of the Universe. It both divides and contains. It is both rhythm, which is the flow of movement in time and synchronous, which is all existence happening at the same time. There are no separate moments between the past, now and what is to come; we simply believe our existence to be composed of discreet segments of time, as though they were experiential moments one separated from another. Time is a direction and the way it flows is determined by our intention, desire and attention: It flows where we look, since it flows in all directions simultaneously all around us.
The Now
The eternal is constant and the only constant is all that flows within now. It is this present moment in which we exist. It is the time-space in which all consciousness interacts with coalesced probabilities. It is the never-ending horizon of possibility that forever exists within each moment: Tomorrows can only exist because of today’s and today’s exist only because of previous nows. However, in reality, time is a flow like a stream bent upon itself whose beginning always meets its end to begin again: It is like a Mobius strip and we travel it like a wire coiled about it in constant spiraling motion.
Now is where we can change everything. This is not to counsel living within the moment of now only, since we risk the errors of previous nows and we risk never reaching new ones. However, this moment is the only one where effective action can take place to fix the past and forge the future. From this moment, we can take an action that will affect either direction, for what we do now, creates ripples within events which flow in all directions.
All nows are available to us. This means we are able to to flow to different moments and effect changes, but we must meet the conditions of time: Our belief must accept the true, non-linear flow of time. This does not mean we must always hold that truth forefront in our minds; to simply suspend our disbelief long enough to effect changes is sufficient. Following belief, our desire for a different experience must be strong enough to overcome what we believe is “concrete” reality. This must be applied specifically to what we have known since we experienced the moment in which we wish to change our actions. Our focus must be very clear on the moment we select; both of the moment itself and what we wish to change in it. This means we must be clear on the “pillars” or anchors of that moment – the critical details of that moment that make it “alive” for us. The moment need not be a “past” one; it is simply a moment for which we know the coordinates. Any moment for which we define the parameters and therefore the coordinates is available to us.
