There are two sides to trust. The first is when one is invested with another’s belief in them. The second is why it is given: They have prooved themselves in some way and as a result, they bring comfort and consolation with them. This is why trust is something earned and is a gift as well as a burden to those who receive it. This is especially true when trust is bestowed for reasons that do not align well with the truth, but is instead bestowed based on the other’s perception alone.
Yet this can be the nature of the heart; seeing what it can believe and it becoming deaf to that which would show it the truth. However, being seen in a brighter, more golden light can cause any untruths to become true, for to one believed in, this can give them the power to overcome themselves. However, the one giving the trust may also see the truth of the one trusted better than any one else.
In trust, we are able to rely on others, giving them purpose because they are needed and if we are trusted, we gain that for ourselves as well. Through trust we gain the knowledge only known to the heart, giving us the power to wait for things to become what they must. So with trust we learn patience, for we are able to endure. Trust allows us to ask for help and receive assistance, because if we have trust, our efforts seek to also benefit others. Our goal is to form alliances, agreements and faith based on harmony; for in our work, we seek to bring the inner and the outer into agreement: We persuade by offering first and others see and in seeing are awakened. We are only able to build and be constructive because of trust, because through it each is able to offer what only they have – themselves. It is trust that makes facing each day worthwhile and when it is lost, so are we.
